Brenda is a chef, author, cooking school teacher, food presenter, recipe developer and business consultant. She is also a food ambassador for the Scenic Rim region in Queensland. Brenda co-authored Eat Local — Food, Farming and Conversation in the Scenic Rim Volume 1 (2016) and Volume 2 (2018) with Christine Sharp, published by the Scenic Rim Regional Council. Her first cookbook, Wholehearted Food, was published by UQP in 2013, and she was honoured to be invited as the only female guest chef to contribute to QAGOMA’s award-winning book, Harvest, published in 2014. Brenda was a restaurateur and chef for over thirty years, and co-founded restaurant, catering business and cooking school Mondo Organics in Brisbane in 2000, which she later sold in 2015.
Christine is an author, editor, artist, illustrator, book designer and photographer, and a real food advocate. She co-authored Eat Local — Food, Farming and Conversation in the Scenic Rim Volume 1 (2016) and Volume 2 (2018) with Brenda Fawdon, published by the Scenic Rim Regional Council. She writes, illustrates and designs picture books for children and adults, and designs and edits books for independent authors and publishers. Christine was the photographer and book designer for Brenda’s first cookbook, Wholehearted Food, published by UQP. She has worked in the creative industries for over twenty-five years, across the literary, visual and performing arts.
