Lisa Ronson is the Chief Marketing Officer for Tourism Australia. In this role Lisa is responsible for leading the organisation’s global marketing strategy – which includes Global Marketing and PR, Digital, Social, Content, Creative and campaigns, Signature experiences, Market Research and Insights, in addition to local market execution to attract more international visitors to Australia and in turn increase the economic benefits to Australia from tourism.
Tourism Australia’s marketing team has overarching responsibility for the creation and development of brand assets for the organisation’s global campaigns – including the latest iteration of There’s nothing like Australia focusing on the country’s aquatic and coastal attributes – and ensuring that Australia’s destination marketing efforts in both traditional and digital channels continue to cut through in the competitive international marketplace.
Lisa Ronson joined Tourism Australia in February 2015 and is a commercially focused Senior Executive with 20 years’ experience, across multiple national and global brands and a diverse range of industries. Prior to joining Tourism Australia Lisa was the General Manager, Brand and Advertising for Westpac. Lisa has also held roles with Carlton and United Breweries as Senior Marketing Manager, with Visa International as Marketing Director for Australia and NZ, with Telstra as Head of Marketing Services and David Jones as General Manager, Marketing.
Lisa was recently recognised as one of the ‘Top 50 Most Innovative CMOs’ and one of the ‘50 Most Powerful and Influential People in the Media, Marketing and Advertising Industry’. Lisa has also won a series of awards for the work she has contributed to her organisations. At Westpac, Lisa and her Team created the TV series “Air Rescue” that was awarded a prestigious Silver Pencil Award at the One Show Awards in New York.
The One Show recognises the world’s best in global creative and media communications. Lisa has also won Australian Banking and Finance campaign of the year award, A team of the year Award, a New York Festival Advertising Award, and many other Facts and Advertising effectiveness awards.
Lisa has A Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree, A Graduate Diploma in Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management and is currently studying her MBA at MGSM. Lisa has also participated in Power Shift 2014 – The Oxford Forum for Women in the World Economy at Said Business School, Oxford University
